Acclaimed culture researcher, sound architect- singer, song-writer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Akoth Jumadi returns with "Sina Mawazo," the fiercely defiant lead single from her highly anticipated upcoming pre-album, 'Barua za Unguja: Vol 1'.

Silently birthed over a three-year period of deep reflection, the project serves as a sonic bridge, an intimate interlude, and a profound introduction to a larger upcoming series of works exploring geographic, spiritual, and systemic borders.

As the opening portal to the pre-album, the lead single "Sina Mawazo" translates to "I have no worries." It is a brilliant, grounded anthem of spiritual resilience in a volatile world. The track challenges the dismissive "prima donna" tropes often weaponized against women who demand structural accountability, standing instead as a masterclass in boundary-setting and self-preservation. 

Sonically, the project is a masterful spatial practice, striking a sort of cognitive resonance throughout its delivery. Carried beautifully by her lovely band, the music intentionally bridges the historic resonance of Arab influences within Swahili music lineages. The tapestry is further enriched by cross-border collaborations, featuring a brilliant appearance from Sudanese saxophonist SHAMSELDIEN ALHAG, alongside guest artists from Sudan , Tanzania and Syria.
